Super Car Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini has officially revealed their newest flagship super car, the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.  This stunning new Lambo is a genuine super car, capable of reaching speeds of 217 mph on the top end, breaking to 60mph in a blinding 2.8 seconds.  To put that in perspective, the Aventador hit 60 mph before you finished reading this sentence.

The design of the Aventador should feel familiar to Lamborghini fans, with trademark angles that ripple along its body in geometric symmetry.  Everything from the wheels to the intakes to the back end are all given a visual upgrade over the Murcièlago this beauty replaces.  Like those other recent Lambo’s, the rear window is perched above the Aventador’s nasty bits, providing a clear view of the fine Italian engineering within.

The engine of the Lamborghini Aventador is also a step up from the Murcièlago.  The Aventador is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine that boosts horsepower up to 691, but it both lighter and more fuel efficient than the engine it replaces.  That new engine plus an added focus on carbon fiber body construction gives the Aventador its blinding speed.

Want one of your own?  700-800 Lamborghini Aventadors will be produced each year, sold for an estimated $370k a piece.  The sales release can’t come soon enough, we’re pumped to see the newest Lamborghini out prowling the streets.

Super Car Lamborghini is really good at creating sinister super sports cars, but it is equally as talented at naming them. According to the company, "Aventador" was the name of a bull that entered into battle on October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the "Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera" for its outstanding courage. Having the courage to go up against a new world of super sports cars will be the name of the game for the new Lamborghini flagship. Today’s world is extremely high-tech and many new players have entered the arena. Lamborghini has been promoting its carbon-fiber monocoque technology and the Aventador’s 2.9 second 0-62mph, but will that be enough?

UPDATE 03/14/2011: The Aventador only debuted a few days ago and already one lucky owner is showcasing his new ride on the streets of Berlin. Surrounded by a montage of pictures of the car and dramatic theme music is actual footage of the Aventador, including the beautiful sounds escaping the exhaust. Sometimes life just isn’t fair!
