Kia Rio B-Spec Race Car |
After Honda and Mazda, Kia is the turn of joining the Group B racing.
The South Korean manufacturer has a sports division whose mission is to design racing cars purposely to enroll in several types of races, including the spectacular Targa Newfoundland, and many others.
As such, the U.S. division of Kia in association with the company Kinetic Motorsports will unveil the next SEMA Show, model Rio B-Spec Race Car.
A small racing car developed on the basis of the latest version of the Kia Rio.
This racing version called the Rio has a small body of three contrasting colors that give it the air quietly menacing.
The interior consists of rather bare beams and roll bars to comply with safety standards set by the leaders of the various competitions generally governed by the FIA.
The original engine
The Kia Rio B-Spec Race Car remains faithful to the four-cylinder 1.6-liter direct injection with an output of 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque.
However, these are the main elements of the geometry of the car that suffered the most significant changes to conform to the rules of racing.
